How Long Is It For A New Website To Get Traffic?

Launching a brand new website and getting people to visit it are 2 different things. But a common question often asked by business and website owners is how long it will take to start getting organic search traffic from Google. There isn’t really a standard definitive answer to that question as there are so many variables to consider, not least being the amount of organic traffic that you would regard as being a success.

While most businesses and websites want to get as much traffic as possible, more targeted micro niche websites will assess the success of SEO very differently to larger sites aimed at much wider audiences.

In general, however, most websites will start to see some traffic from Google very shortly after they launch – usually in days, a week or two at the latest. Remember, though, that success doesn’t lie at the start of your SEO journey, but instead by continuous improvements that increase traffic numbers over time.

So How Long In Estimate Is It For A New Website To Get Traffic?

Convert Leads and Sales from Website Traffic

Answer: Minimum 3 months depends on a few factors that impact Google Traffic levels for new website:

But for that to happen you need to consistently publish high-quality content and articles on your blog. And, of course, you need to make sure that you keep building high-quality backlinks to your blog. Not only it will increase your traffic but also it will improve your Domain Authority and Domain Rating.

Does Google Sandbox Affect Blog Traffic

Some of you might be familiar with Google Sandbox. When you are just starting out a new blog or website it takes a while before starting to rank in Google (usually 3 to 6 months, sometimes up to a year).

This filtration process that prevents new websites from ranking in Google’s top results instantly is called ‘Google Sandbox‘

This is like a probation period for new sites. It’s to prevent spammers from throwing up new blogs to rank for big keywords and make a quick profit. It used to work in the past, but not today.

Even if you do everything right, your site won’t get decent rankings until this probation period comes to an end. No matter how skilled you are at SEO and how great your site is, your blog or website will have to go through this process.

Why Blogs Are Helpful In Website Traffic?

Although it is very frustrating for publishers who work so hard to develop their content without seeing any visible result. But is a very good filtration as some websites just try to rank with deceitful ways.

Eventually every website owner should respect the Google sandbox and comply with the company’s policy. For someone like me, who repeatedly builds new niche sites, I don’t mind the sandbox at all. Blogs are a long-term play for me anyways.

Don’t give up if you don’t see any visible traffic in your first 6-9 months. Eventually, if you keep creating new content consistently you will see good results and a spike in your website traffic. keep growing your articles and blog and stop worrying about traffic.

There are a lot of ways you can get short-time traffic for your website. Those methods will help you make some money and help you stay in business. But make sure that you target for a long-term play.

1. Competition

If you are in a niche or industry where there is a lot of competition, you will find it more difficult to rank in a high position on Google search results pages.

This is because Google is highly unlikely to display your new website over others which it already knows well and understands, particularly for competitive search terms.

You will get some traffic as the Google algorithm learns more about your site, but you shouldn’t expect your site to immediately dislodge those that are already established

2. Choices of Keywords

It is true that, in general, standard keywords have higher levels of monthly searches than long-tail keywords. However, people using Google type in long-tail keywords more than shorter ones.

Long-tail keywords often bring highly targeted visitors to your site, i.e. people with a very specific query that your website can help with.

3. Level of Optimisation

If organic traffic is important to your website, you will need a good SEO strategy to optimise your website from the start covering important elements like:

☑️ Relevant keywords in the content of your site’s pages

☑️ Enough content on the pages

☑️ Properly structuring the various elements of your site’s pages like URL, page title, and header tags

☑️ Be Mobile responsive

☑️ Ensuring your website loads quickly

However, like all good things, achieving a great search engine ranking and noticeable increases in web traffic, in the end, takes time.
